Patients may have a desire to improve the appearance of their teeth but need to fit the cost of cosmetic treatment into their budget. We therefore offer payment plans that allow patients to budget payments over an extended time.
Unless cosmetic dentistry is being provided because of trauma, dental insurance will not provide any significant benefits. The exceptions, in addition to trauma, are crowns over teeth that have root canals not yet crowned. Also, there could be benefits to replace missing teeth, if they are removed after insurance coverage is provided. Teeth that are missing prior to coverage are considered a pre-existing condition. There are times where direct bonding can be defined as fillings for insurance purposes.
Patients, however, shouldn't be too disappointed they either don't have dental insurance or don't receive benefits for their cosmetic treatment if they do have insurance. Dental insurance has an annual maximum benefit of from $1000 to $1500 per year. This is the same annual benefit maximum provided since 1975.
It is for this reason our office provides various payment plans for patients to budget their dental treatment over time. Payment plans are for the total fee agreed upon. We will provide all necessary codes and information if you have insurance coverage. After your insurance is filed, any benefit is paid directly to you by the insurance company as a rebate. The reimbursement can be anticipated on the more basic dental services.
If you are seeking a dentist to provide cosmetic or complex dentistry, think about what is most important to you in choosing a dentist. A dentist that offers not only the technical skill and experience, but takes the necessary time to evaluate and diagnose each individual patient will not be the least expensive. Complex dentistry requires much more time listening to the patient's concerns about their appearance, and what they would like done to improve their smile. The dentist must be willing to allow the patient to participate in formulating a plan for treatment.
This approach is not for everyone. However, if you feel our office could be the one you're looking for, why not give us a try?
